Affordable UK PR Agency for Founders, Experts & Growing Businesses

Founder-led, journalist-led PR for businesses across the UK.

Build credibility, visibility and trusted influence through earned media.

£797 per month

Three-month initial term. Then one full billing cycle's notice.

Examples of publications where our clients have secured coverage:

The Times | The Telegraph | Daily Mail | Forbes | Newsweek | BBC | Metro | The Standard | and more

Fair Public Relations is an affordable, founder-led, journalist-led UK PR agency helping businesses and credible people turn what they know, do, sell and stand for into stories journalists can actually use.

We support clients across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, working with founders, experts, small businesses, consumer brands, B2B companies and professional services firms.

Our campaigns can combine expert commentary, thought leadership, founder visibility, consumer product and service PR, business news, real-life stories, data-led PR and reactive media opportunities.

Depending on the campaign, we may pitch national newspapers, consumer publications, business media, specialist trade titles, regional outlets, broadcast media and relevant digital publications.

Our standard PR service costs £797 per month, giving UK businesses access to journalist-led strategy, positioning, content creation, media pitching, founder involvement, monitoring, reporting and ongoing campaign support without a traditional multi-thousand-pound agency retainer.

UK PR Without the Traditional Agency Retainer

Hiring a PR agency in the UK has traditionally meant committing to a substantial monthly retainer.

For many small and growing businesses, that can make consistent PR difficult to justify.

Fair Public Relations was built differently.

We wanted experienced, strategic, journalist-led PR to be accessible to businesses that have genuine media potential but do not necessarily want to spend several thousand pounds every month on a traditional agency structure.

Our model is deliberately leaner.

You still receive:

  • PR strategy

  • media positioning

  • proactive campaign ideas

  • reactive media opportunities

  • content creation

  • journalist pitching

  • follow-up

  • founder involvement

  • a dedicated PR team

  • campaign monitoring

  • reporting

  • fortnightly updates

  • monthly account calls

  • a client portal

  • direct communication through WhatsApp

But Standard PR costs £797 per month.

There is a three-month initial commitment.

After that, the service continues month to month with one full billing cycle's notice.

The aim is not to create "cheap PR".

It is to create a more efficient PR model with clear pricing, experienced people and fewer unnecessary agency layers.

PR Across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

You do not need to be based in London to secure meaningful UK media coverage.

PR is increasingly location-flexible.

Journalists work remotely.

Interviews can take place by phone, Zoom or Google Meet.

Expert commentary can be submitted electronically.

Products can be sent to journalists.

Founders can speak to national media from anywhere in the country.

A strong story remains a strong story whether the business is based in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast or a smaller town.

We support businesses throughout the UK.

England

We can work with businesses throughout England, including companies and experts based in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and elsewhere.

For some clients, location creates a useful regional media angle.

For others, the strongest opportunities are national.

A Manchester technology founder may be relevant to a national business publication.

A Birmingham interiors expert may be suitable for national homes media.

A Bristol fitness business may have consumer-media opportunities across the UK.

A specialist based in Newcastle may be just as relevant to a national journalist as someone working from central London.

The story and expertise matter more than the postcode.

Scotland

Scottish businesses can have both national and regional PR opportunities.

A Scottish founder, product or company may have a strong local story while also being relevant to national UK media.

For example, a Scottish health or wellness brand might combine:

  • Scottish business coverage

  • founder-led storytelling

  • UK consumer media

  • expert commentary

  • product PR

  • national business coverage

We do not restrict campaigns to Scottish publications simply because the company is based in Scotland.

Where the story has broader relevance, we pitch more widely.

Wales

Businesses in Wales can also combine geographic relevance with wider UK media opportunities.

Welsh founders, experts, consumer brands and professional services businesses may be relevant to:

  • Welsh media

  • national UK media

  • consumer publications

  • business titles

  • trade media

  • specialist publications

Sometimes the Welsh connection strengthens the story.

Sometimes it is simply where the business happens to be based.

We assess which approach makes the strongest editorial sense.

Northern Ireland

We can also support suitable businesses and experts in Northern Ireland.

Depending on the campaign, opportunities may include:

  • Northern Irish media

  • UK national media

  • business publications

  • consumer coverage

  • specialist trade publications

  • expert commentary

  • founder stories

  • business news

Again, the campaign is shaped around media relevance rather than geography alone.

National Reach, Wherever Your Business Is Based

Where your business is located does not determine which journalists we can approach.

A strong media opportunity can travel.

A Scottish nutrition expert may be useful to a national health journalist.

A Welsh property specialist could contribute to a UK housing story.

A Belfast founder may have a business story suitable for entrepreneurship media.

A Manchester recruiter could comment on national employment trends.

A Birmingham consumer brand may be suitable for a national product feature.

A Bristol technology company may have data relevant to business journalists across the country.

A London founder may appear in regional media when their story has a local angle.

The geography should support the story, not restrict it.

That is why our UK PR campaigns may consider a mixture of:

National media

Including newspapers, magazines, digital publications and broadcast outlets with UK-wide audiences.

Consumer media

Useful for products, services, health, homes, beauty, wellness, food, fitness, travel, parenting, property and other consumer-facing sectors.

Business media

Particularly relevant to founders, professional services firms, technology businesses, HR companies, consultants and other B2B organisations.

Specialist and trade media

Sometimes the most commercially relevant publication is not the biggest one.

A highly targeted trade publication can be more useful than a national feature that reaches millions of people who are unlikely to become customers.

Regional media

Regional publications can be valuable where the location itself adds relevance.

That might include a new opening, expansion, local founder story, regional data, employment story or community angle.

We shape campaigns around relevance rather than simply chasing the largest possible publication name.

Several Ways We Build Visibility

Our PR campaigns are not built around one tactic.

Different businesses earn media attention in different ways.

Some have credible experts.

Some have strong products.

Some have interesting founders.

Some have valuable data.

Some have genuinely newsworthy developments.

Some have real-life stories.

The strongest campaign may combine several of these.

  • consumer services

  • e-commerce brands

  • food and drink

  • beauty and skincare

  • fitness

  • wellness

  • home and interiors

B2C PR

We work with suitable consumer-facing businesses through our B2C PR approach.

This can include:

  • travel

  • hospitality

  • parenting

  • health

  • consumer technology

  • property-related services

  • lifestyle businesses

  • product roundups

  • buying guides

  • gift guides

  • reviews

  • consumer recommendations

  • expert commentary

Depending on the company, B2C PR may involve:

  • product roundups

  • buying guides

  • gift guides

  • reviews

  • consumer recommendations

  • expert commentary

For suitable consumer products and services, direct editorial inclusion can form part of the campaign.

However, inclusion remains an editorial decision and cannot be guaranteed.

B2B PR

We also work with suitable B2B businesses.

Our B2B PR model is generally focused on visibility, credibility and authority rather than direct product or service inclusion.

Potential campaign activity may include:

  • expert commentary

  • founder visibility

  • executive positioning

  • thought leadership

  • business news

  • original research

  • industry data

  • reactive media commentary

  • founder stories

  • interviews

  • podcasts where appropriate

We may pitch a mixture of consumer, national, business and specialist trade publications depending on the expertise and story.

We do not generally promote B2B products or services for editorial product or service inclusion.

For example, we would not normally take a SaaS product and pitch it for guaranteed inclusion in lists of recommended business software.

The PR opportunity is more likely to sit with the people, expertise, data and ideas behind the company.

B2B publications can also have longer editorial lead times, so B2B campaigns may take longer to translate into published articles.

We explain that clearly from the beginning.

Professional Services PR

Professional services businesses often sell expertise.

That makes credibility particularly important.

Our Professional Services PR approach can work with suitable:

  • consultancies

  • advisory firms

  • agencies

  • lawyers

  • accountants

  • business advisers

  • independent consultants

  • specialist service providers

  • other expertise-led firms

PR can help turn professional knowledge into media commentary, thought leadership, founder visibility, business stories and independent proof around the firm's expertise.

We do not generally pitch B2B professional services for direct service inclusion.

The strongest opportunities usually come from what the people inside the business know.

Technology PR

We can also support suitable technology, SaaS and AI businesses through our Technology PR work.

We are not a traditional specialist technology communications agency.

We do not offer analyst relations, investor relations or highly technical product communications.

Our strength is more likely to sit around:

  • founder visibility

  • thought leadership

  • expert commentary

  • consumer-facing technology insight

  • business trends

  • data

  • original research

  • company news

  • search visibility

  • wider digital authority

For many technology companies, the most interesting media asset is not the software itself.

It is what the people behind the software understand.

HR & Recruitment PR

HR, careers and recruitment have broad relevance across both business and consumer media.

Our HR & Recruitment PR work can include:

  • workplace commentary

  • careers advice

  • salary trends

  • hiring

  • recruitment data

  • employee behaviour

  • leadership

  • retention

  • flexible working

  • workplace culture

  • skills shortages

  • founder visibility

  • thought leadership

Depending on the angle, we may pitch national media, business publications, HR titles, recruitment publications and other specialist media.

Expert PR

For many businesses, expertise is one of the strongest assets available.

Our Expert PR approach helps founders, professionals and specialists become credible media sources.

This may include:

  • expert commentary

  • practical advice

  • industry opinion

  • interviews

  • thought leadership

  • reaction to current news

  • trend commentary

  • podcasts

  • specialist features

The strongest expert PR is useful rather than promotional.

Journalists need someone who can make their article better.

They do not simply need someone who wants publicity.

Founder PR

Founders can also be powerful PR assets.

A strong founder may have:

  • an unusual career journey

  • a compelling personal story

  • significant expertise

  • strong business opinions

  • lessons from building the company

  • an interesting mission

  • experience of overcoming a setback

  • knowledge of a changing industry

  • a book

  • a distinctive approach to leadership

Our Founder PR work can help turn that experience into media opportunities.

The goal is not to create fame for its own sake.

It is to build recognition, credibility and a stronger public identity around the person behind the business.

Consumer Products and Services

For suitable B2C businesses, the product or service itself may be part of the story.

We can consider opportunities around:

  • product roundups

  • buying guides

  • reviews

  • seasonal shopping features

  • gift guides

  • consumer recommendations

  • service reviews

  • hands-on experiences

  • new launches

  • trends

  • lifestyle features

This can be especially relevant to sectors such as:

Again, inclusion is earned.

We can identify and pitch relevant opportunities.

We cannot guarantee that a journalist will feature a particular product or service.

Telling Stories

Not every strong PR opportunity comes from expertise or products.

Sometimes the story itself is the strongest asset.

That might include:

  • founder journeys

  • customer stories

  • real-life experiences

  • unusual business beginnings

  • major personal challenges

  • community stories

  • career changes

  • extraordinary circumstances

  • personal experiences behind the business

Where a real-life, founder or customer story has strong media potential, we can help shape it carefully and appropriately.

Strong stories create connection.

They give audiences something memorable to associate with the business.

Business News

Companies also have genuine news.

Potential opportunities may include:

  • expansion

  • new locations

  • partnerships

  • significant appointments

  • funding

  • acquisitions

  • research

  • new initiatives

  • major milestones

  • international growth

  • launches

  • substantial changes within the business

Not every company update needs to become a press release.

We look for the wider editorial reason someone outside the business should care.

PR With a Purpose

Strong PR starts before the first journalist is contacted.

Every Fair PR campaign includes strategic thinking, angle development and media positioning.

We consider:

  • what your business should become known for

  • which audiences matter

  • what makes the company distinctive

  • which founders or experts have the strongest authority

  • what journalists are already writing about

  • which ideas have genuine editorial potential

  • where consumer PR makes sense

  • where B2B PR makes sense

  • where specialist trade media may be more useful

  • how the campaign can support your wider business goals

Every Standard PR campaign also includes a Founder & Authority Positioning Session.

This helps clarify:

  • your strongest positioning

  • what your founder or experts should become known for

  • which areas of authority you can credibly own

  • how the company should be presented

  • which stories and themes are most likely to support your wider goals

The aim is not PR for the sake of PR.

It is to create clear reasons for journalists to pay attention.

Finding the Right PR Angle

Not every business earns coverage in the same way.

One client may have a brilliant founder.

Another may have a product journalists genuinely want to test.

Another might have an expert with unusually strong knowledge.

Another may have valuable research.

Another could have a powerful customer story.

Another may be best suited to business and trade media.

The job is to identify the strongest route.

We consider:

  • your business

  • your sector

  • your audience

  • your founder

  • your experts

  • your products

  • your services

  • your data

  • your story

  • your credibility

  • your goals

  • the wider media environment

We will tell you which direction we think has the strongest chance of working.

We will also tell you when an idea is weak.

That is part of doing PR properly.

Optional Paid Media Opportunities

Our core service focuses on earned media.

Some business, trade, consumer and specialist publications also offer advertorial, sponsored content, contributor opportunities or other commercial partnerships.

These are not included within Standard PR and are not required to work with us.

For some businesses, carefully selected paid opportunities may complement a wider marketing strategy.

Where we become aware of something we think could genuinely be useful, we can flag it to you.

You decide whether to pursue it.

Any media payment is made directly to the publication or commercial provider. The media fee does not go to Fair Public Relations.

You can decline every commercial opportunity and continue with your earned PR campaign.

We will always make it clear whether something is earned or paid.

Fair Public Relations

PR for Search Visibility and SEO

PR and SEO are different disciplines, but they can complement one another.

Earned media can contribute to the wider digital footprint around your company.

Coverage may help:

  • create additional references to your brand

  • expand branded search results

  • associate founders and experts with relevant subjects

  • create editorial backlinks where publications choose to link

  • provide independent third-party proof

  • give prospective customers more credible information to find

  • strengthen your wider online authority

Not every publication will link.

We cannot guarantee backlinks.

We cannot guarantee rankings.

We do not control how a publication structures its editorial links.

However, sustained media coverage can complement a wider SEO strategy.

Earned PR and Paid Coverage Are Different

Earned media is coverage secured because a journalist or editor believes your product, expertise, story, data or commentary is useful.

Paid media exists because a business has purchased a commercial opportunity.

Both can form part of a marketing strategy.

They are not the same thing.

We will not present paid advertorial as earned PR.

Transparency matters.

PR for AI Search and AEO

The way people research businesses is changing.

Potential customers increasingly use AI tools alongside traditional search.

They may ask about:

  • businesses in a particular sector

  • experts on a subject

  • products worth considering

  • service providers

  • recognised companies

  • founders

  • specialists

  • recommendations

No PR agency can legitimately guarantee that an AI platform will cite or recommend a particular business.

What we can do is help create a stronger body of credible third-party information around your company.

Earned media can contribute independent references to:

  • your business

  • founders

  • experts

  • products

  • services

  • specialist subjects

  • media coverage

  • areas of authority

This can support broader discoverability across traditional search and newer AI-powered research experiences.

We sometimes refer to this as AEO, or Answer Engine Optimisation.

We cannot guarantee citations or recommendations from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity or another AI system.

Our role is to help build credible visibility across the wider web.

PR Takes Time

PR is not advertising.

There is no switch we can turn on that guarantees an article will appear next week.

Some opportunities move quickly.

A journalist might need an expert comment within an hour.

A consumer editor may be building a roundup that week.

A breaking story can create immediate interest.

Other opportunities take longer.

Magazine features may be planned months ahead.

B2B and trade publications can have longer lead times.

A journalist may accept commentary weeks before the finished article appears.

Product testing can take time.

Interviews need scheduling.

Seasonal features may be commissioned far in advance.

For many suitable campaigns, momentum starts to become more established over months three to six.

That is why Standard PR begins with a three-month initial commitment.

The objective is consistent media activity and momentum over time rather than judging the entire campaign on what happens during the first few weeks.

What PR Can and Cannot Do

PR can help businesses build:

  • visibility

  • credibility

  • authority

  • brand recognition

  • founder recognition

  • expert profiles

  • independent proof

  • a stronger digital footprint

  • media relationships

  • branded search presence

  • editorial backlinks where publications choose to link

  • wider awareness

It can support:

  • sales conversations

  • consumer trust

  • partnerships

  • referrals

  • retailer discussions

  • speaking profiles

  • recruitment

  • wider marketing activity

But PR cannot guarantee:

  • a particular publication

  • a fixed number of articles each month

  • that every journalist will respond

  • product inclusion

  • positive reviews

  • that every article will include a backlink

  • Google rankings

  • AI citations

  • website traffic

  • leads

  • enquiries

  • sales

  • revenue

  • retailer listings

  • partnerships

  • a particular commercial return

Earned media involves independent editorial decisions.

We can control the quality of our strategy, ideas, writing, pitching, follow-up and communication.

We cannot control what journalists ultimately decide to publish.

Who We Work Best With

Fair PR can work with a broad range of suitable UK businesses and credible people.

This includes:

  • SaaS companies

  • HR and recruitment companies

  • home and interiors businesses

  • property businesses

  • finance experts

  • beauty and skincare companies

  • wellness businesses

  • fitness companies

  • food and drink brands

  • travel companies

  • hospitality businesses

  • e-commerce businesses

  • other expertise-led or consumer-facing companies

The key question is not whether your business fits neatly into one category.

It is whether you have genuine media potential.

Brands We Cannot Help

We do not work with every business.

There are sectors and models that are not appropriate for our service.

We do not work with:

  • smoking or vaping brands

  • CBD or cannabis businesses

  • political organisations

  • gambling businesses

  • adult-content businesses

  • businesses selling or promoting weapons

  • religious organisations

  • multilevel marketing businesses

  • cryptocurrency or investment opportunities

There may also be individual businesses outside these categories that we decide are not a suitable fit.

If we do not think we can help, we will tell you.

What We Need From You

Strong PR is collaborative.

To provide thoughtful, journalist-led PR at this price, we need clients to participate when required.

You should be willing to:

  • respond to journalist deadlines

  • provide accurate information

  • approve content

  • share professional-quality assets

  • provide products or service access where relevant

  • share expertise and opinions

  • take part in interviews where suitable

  • provide data where appropriate

  • keep your website and online presence credible

  • listen to honest advice

  • be open to different story angles

  • understand that PR takes time

Some days may require almost no input.

Other days, a journalist may need an answer quickly.

The more responsive we can be together, the better positioned we are to take advantage of genuine media opportunities.

Meet the Fair PR Team

Fair PR's UK Roots

Fair Public Relations was founded in London in August 2015.

Our London roots remain an important part of the business.

Fair PR has a London office at 66 Paul Street, and our founder's own career included working at the Daily Mail in Derry Street before moving into PR.

But our work has never needed to stop at the M25.

Today, Fair PR supports businesses and experts across the UK.

That national model works because good PR is built around stories, expertise and media relevance rather than requiring every client to sit in the same city as their agency.

For businesses specifically looking for a London agency, you can also read about our London PR Agency.

Personal, Relationship-Led PR

Our systems are structured.

Our campaigns are not generic.

Every business has different:

  • goals

  • audiences

  • expertise

  • products

  • services

  • founders

  • opportunities

  • challenges

  • media potential

That means every campaign needs its own direction.

We do not believe good PR comes from putting hundreds of clients through exactly the same automated pitching system.

Clients work with a dedicated PR team.

Jordan remains directly involved.

You have a private WhatsApp group with the team.

You have a client portal where you can see campaign activity and coverage.

You receive fortnightly progress updates and regular account calls.

Technology supports the process.

It does not replace the relationships, judgement and editorial thinking behind the work.

AI supports the process. Humans do the PR.

Is Fair PR Right for Your UK Business?

Standard PR could be a strong fit if:

  • you want sustained PR rather than a one-off press release

  • you have a credible founder, expert, product, service or story

  • you want strategy as well as pitching

  • you value visibility, credibility and authority

  • you are willing to respond when journalists have deadlines

  • you want a bespoke campaign

  • you value transparent pricing

  • you want direct founder involvement

  • you want an experienced PR team

  • you want a mixture of proactive and reactive opportunities

  • you understand that media coverage cannot be guaranteed

  • you want PR to support wider business goals over time

It may not be right if:

  • you need guaranteed coverage in a named publication

  • you expect instant results

  • you only care about backlinks

  • you want hundreds of automated press release submissions

  • you do not want to provide information or approvals

  • you need a large corporate communications consultancy

  • you require investor relations or public affairs

  • you want paid placement presented as earned PR

  • you expect PR to guarantee sales

Good PR sometimes means telling you:

That story is not strong enough.

It can also mean finding the much stronger story sitting behind it.

Ready to See Whether PR Could Work for Your Business?

You do not need to be based in London.

You do not need to be a household name.

You do not need a multi-thousand-pound monthly PR budget.

You do need something credible to build from.

That could be:

  • expertise

  • a founder story

  • a consumer product

  • a useful service

  • original research

  • business news

  • a customer story

  • an interesting point of view

  • a genuine real-life story

  • a business people should know about

If the media opportunity is there, we can help you find it, shape it and put it in front of relevant journalists.

Standard PR costs £797 per month, with a three-month initial commitment.
