Aaron Pieterse is the co-founder of CuppaPug and CuppaPug Rescue, an organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming vulnerable pugs. Through CuppaPug's unique rescue model, Aaron and his team provide medical care, behavioural assessment, fostering, and carefully matched adoptions, while educating the public about responsible dog ownership, ethical breeding, and the welfare challenges facing brachycephalic breeds.

Since launching the first CuppaPug café in 2022, Aaron has helped build a rescue-led organisation that has rehomed pugs through an adoption process focused on long-term suitability rather than speed. He has hands-on experience caring for dogs with complex medical and behavioural needs, working with rescue organisations, and supporting owners through every stage of the adoption journey.

Aaron regularly comments on animal welfare, pet adoption, responsible ownership, and the realities of caring for flat-faced breeds. His mission is to improve standards of care for pugs while helping prospective owners make informed decisions that put the dogs' welfare first.
